More Angler Action.

BRADENTON REPORT prepared on March 10, 2011 by Captain Larry McGuire

Great offshore action ! Spring break is here. On Show me The Fish Charters we fished offshore only one day this week due to the high wind. My party started the day with fighting a couple of big cobia that finally broke off. Then started catching lots of Amberjack, mangrove snapper and porgies. Bill Rolston from Canada finished the day off with landing a 5 ft black tip shark using a live pinfish. The bite was non stop action and our anglers came in early with aching muscles from catching so many fish. We were offshore off Anna Maria Island in about 120 ft using large pinfish and sardines. Closer in the Spanish mackerel and sheep head bite is going strong along the beaches and local piers. Which is a great back up plan if you can't head far offshore on the windy days. While fishing closer in be ready for the kingfish invasion. I heard last week that they were catching them off Ft Myers. As soon as the bait schools show up the big mackerel will be there along with cobia and big sharks. Looks like the forecast starting this weekend predicts perfect weather, thats a offshore anglers dream come true especially after a windy couple of weeks. On Show Me The Fish we will be heading out to about 160 ft and going for the gold on these calm days targeting the big boys out deep. Now's the time to come on out and get on it. Spring Break is here!
